Recruiting

The founders of Mills Paskert Divers left a large, well-established and highly regarded law firm to create a different kind of law firm, one that provides personal attention to detail, value to its clients, and the responsiveness necessary in today’s competitive legal environment.

The attorneys of Mills Paskert Divers each enjoy a distinguished reputation in professional circles and for client service. High quality representation is the cornerstone of the firm’s practice, and the firm seeks highly motivated attorneys and staff to reach its stated goals. The firm’s commitment to excellence and its desire to be a premier service provider to its clients demands excellence at all levels of the organization.

Mills Paskert Divers is committed to hiring excellent attorneys and staff, taking into account the academic achievement, personal characteristics and extracurricular activities of the individual. The firm hires to meet its clients’ needs and expects all associates who are hired to ultimately become shareholders. The attorneys at Mills Paskert Divers work as a “team,” each assisting the other in his or her given area of expertise to ensure clients receive the best possible service. Our “team approach” fosters a great working environment and collegiality among both the attorneys and staff. The flexibility and responsiveness that we enjoy as a smaller firm also provides unique career opportunities for our associates. As a growing firm, we are looking for highly motivated leaders of tomorrow.

Our attorneys have distinguished themselves as Bar and community leaders. For example, one of our founders served as the former Chair of the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division. That Division served more than 360,000 young lawyers throughout the United States. Other attorneys in the firm have held various leadership positions at both the national and state Bar levels and in local civic organizations. We strongly encourage our attorneys to be involved in the community and are fully supportive of pro bono activities.

While we are located in Tampa, Florida, our practice is truly a state-wide practice. Tampa enjoys one of the finest airport facilities in the world, which allows for ease of access into and out of the area. Additionally, the Tampa Bay area combines the opportunities of a strong, growing business environment with diverse cultural activities and sporting events.

Additionally, Tampa’s temperate climate allows its residents to enjoy year-round boating, fishing and golfing.

The firm engages in a complex commercial litigation practice and regularly represents Fortune 500 companies, varied local business interests, governmental bodies and individuals. Great clients, great work, and the relaxed charm of Tampa creates a unique and inviting working environment.

Consistent with our practice, we offer associates a wide range of opportunities to develop expertise within our practice areas. The firm also encourages its attorneys to keep abreast of current developments by attending continuing education programs at the firm’s expense.

We provide annual formal evaluations of each attorney’s performance and frequent informal evaluations to keep associates informed of their progress and development. Additionally, our associates prepare a written assessment of their performance and provide feedback to the firm on how to enhance its practice areas and the development of its attorneys.

Our compensation and benefits packages are competitive with those in the Tampa Bay area. Our philosophy is that we want to attract the best and brightest and must therefore ensure that our compensation and benefits programs are comparable to those of our competitors in the marketplace. Finally, the firm provides incentive bonuses to its attorneys to reward them for their productivity and development.
