PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Prior to joining Mills Paskert Divers, Matt worked in the general counsel’s office of the Florida Department Community Affairs. At the DCA, Matt served as the lead attorney on several land use and comprehensive planning disputes before the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings, as well as the legal liaison for the Department’s involvement in the administration of the Power Plant and Transmission Line Siting Acts. Matt also made several appearances before various Florida House and Senate committees and subcommittees on behalf of legislative changes being pursued by the Department during the 2011 Legislative Session.

Matt joined Mills Paskert Divers in 2011. At MPD, his practice is devoted to business, construction defect, surety and fidelity litigation. Matt is licensed to practice in the state courts of Florida, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida.

Matt earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida, and attended law school at Florida State University. During law school, Matt served as the President of the student division of the Tallahassee Bar Association, and the tournament director for the Law School Golf Association’s annual charity golf tournament in 2008. While in school, Matt also clerked for the Tallahassee office of Fowler White Boggs. In addition to earning his Juris Doctor from FSU, Matt also completed the program requirements for the Certificate in Environmental and Land Use Law.
