Careers
The founders of Mills Paskert Divers left a large, well-established and highly regarded
law firm to create a different kind of law firm, one that provides personal attention
to detail, value to its clients, and the responsiveness necessary in today’s competitive
legal environment.
Our attorneys enjoy distinguished reputations in professional circles for client
service. Because high quality, and ethical, representation is the cornerstone of
our practice, we seek highly motivated attorneys and staff to reach our goals. The
firm’s commitment to excellence and its desire to be a premier service provider
to its clients demands excellence at all levels of the organization.
Mills Paskert Divers is committed to hiring excellent attorneys and staff, taking
into account each person’s academic achievement, personal characteristics and extracurricular
activities. The firm hires to meet its clients’ needs and expects all attorneys
to ultimately become shareholders. The attorneys at Mills Paskert Divers work as
a team, each assisting the other in his or her area of expertise to ensure clients
receive the best possible service. Our team approach fosters a unique working environment
and collegiality among the attorneys and staff.
Our attorneys have distinguished themselves as Bar and community leaders. For example,
one of our founders is the Chair of the Fidelity and Surety Law Committee
of the American Bar Association's Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section. Another
of our founders served as the Chair of the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers
Division, which boasted more than 360,000 young lawyer members throughout the United
States. Other attorneys in the firm have held various leadership positions at the
national and state Bar levels and in numerous local civic organizations. We strongly
encourage our attorneys to get involved in the community and fully support pro bono
activities.
Consistent with our practice, we offer our attorneys a wide range of opportunities
to develop expertise within our practice areas. A supervising shareholder mentors
each of our associate attorneys. The firm also encourages its attorneys to keep
abreast of current developments by attending continuing education programs at its
expense.
We provide annual formal evaluations of each attorney’s performance and frequent
informal evaluations to keep associates informed of their progress and development.
Additionally, our associates prepare a written assessment of their performance and
provide feedback to the firm on how to enhance its practice areas and the development
of its attorneys.
Our compensation and benefits packages are competitive with those in the Tampa and
Atlanta markets. We seek the best and brightest attorneys and must, therefore, ensure
that our compensation and benefits programs are comparable to those of our competitors.
The firm provides standard health, vacation, life and other benefits. Additionally,
the firm provides a generous 401(k) and profit-sharing plan. Finally, the firm provides
incentive bonuses to its attorneys to reward them for their productivity and development.
In short, Mills Paskert Divers provides a highly competitive compensation package
and a tremendous working environment.
